The Annual Michigan Arbor Day is today! Celebrations across the state will be taking place today and this weekend.

City of Breckenridge Arbor Day Celebration

 City of City Breckenridge will be celebrating Arbor Day on Friday April 26th from 8:00-noon. The community is invited to help rake, plant trees and pick up sticks in the local cemetery. There will be a light breakfast, proclamation reading, getting to work and then finishing with lunch.

Ctiy of Holland Arbor Day Celebration


Arbor Day will take place on Friday, April 26, 2019, at 9:30 am, at Windmill Island Gardens, hopefully it will be a warm and sunny day! We can dream!


Plans and assignments will include:


  • The Greenhouse Staff at Windmill Island Gardens will procure the tree, provide the planting site, help the children to help plant the tree, and provide the seedlings the children will plant and take home.


  •   Parks Director: Please bring the Arbor Day Flag for the program


  •    Holland Garden Club will host the celebration, provide refreshments and program, fund the tree, provide the bus fee for the children, and assist the children in planting their seedlings to take home.


  •  A teacher from Woodside School, will help her Young 5’s class prepare a short program and assist them in planting the tree and the seedlings.


  •   The Mayor, Nancy DeBoer, will attend our celebration and plan on bringing and reading the official Arbor Day Proclamation.

Seedling Distribution at Dexter Library

 Volunteers will be distributing free tree seedlings to celebrate Arbor Day at Dexter District Library (3255 Alpine Street) on April 26th from 10am-noon.

City of Saugatuck Tree Planting

The City of Saugatuck is planning on celebrating Arbor Day by planting a sugar maple at 10:00am at Village Square Park on Friday, April 26, 2019.

Tree Seedling Distribution City of Dexter

 City of Dexter will have volunteers handing out free tree seedlings to celebrate Arbor Day at the Clock Plaza (corner of Broad and Main streets; weather permitting) from 11:00am to 12:00pm on April 26th.

North Muskegons Arbor Day Celebration

  North Muskegon’s Arbor Day Celebration will be held on Friday, April 26th at 12:30 pm. at  Bear Lake Beach Park.  The Arbor Day Celebration is a combined celebration with North Muskegon Public Schools Environmental Club and their 5th grade class.  The  Celebration begins with the 5th grade doing different craft/learning stations about caring for trees and Arbor Day.  The Celebration ends with the Mayor of the City planting the ceremonial tree and each 5th grader gets the opportunity to help.

Tree Seedling Distribution City of Dexter

Volunteers will be distributing free tree seedlings to celebrate Arbor Day at Dexter Mill (3515 Central St.) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Imaly City Arbor Day Celebration

  The City of Imlay City will be handing out seedlings to our Fourth Graders at Borland Elementary on Arbor Day, Friday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m.  There will be a speaker from Seven Ponds Nature Center, located in Dryden, that will come to the school to talk to the kids about the importance of trees.

City of Cadillac Arbor Day Event

The City of Cadillac will host their 2019 Arbor Day Observance, on Friday, Apr. 26 in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 200 lake St. Cadillac MI.

It starts with a string quartet, then a welcome by the Community Schools Director. Al Dumond will read the history of Arbor Day. There is a contest in which elementary school  students make posters and write stories and are judged by the local artist association.  Students are  presented with certificates for 1st,  2nd, & 3rd places. A local Pastor asks a blessing, for the city, which is the steward of the trees. The Community Schools Director closes out the observance and the String Quartet plays as people leave. City of Livonia Tree Planting

  The City of Livonia will celebrate Arbor Day this year at Randolph Elementary School.  Randolph is located at 14470 Norman St.  The event will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.  The city will be planting three (3) trees in the right-of-way of Norman Street at the school.  Each student will also take home a spruce seedling courtesy of Livonia’s Tree City USA committee.

City of Rochester Hills Tree Planting

Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting within the City of Rochester Hills, which has been a Tree City USA community for 29 years. This year a tree will be planted along the Clinton River Trail with the Friend of the Clinton River Trail to also recognize the trail’s 15-year anniversary. The event will be from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.
